24th Oct, 2020
ONLINE PERFORMANCE OCT 24th-31st
EXTRACTS FROM THE IMPRISONED MOON
Piper and Chantry for Chantry Dance present their latest performance work as part of the Guildhall and Stamford Arts Centre's FREE Autumn Digital season.
The Imprisoned Moon is a Lincolnshire folktale that tells of the time the Moon came down from the sky to walk over the Lincolnshire Carrland.
With stunning aerial hoop acrobatics and contemporary dance, Chantry Dance presents two extracts from this story. In the first, we see the Moon in the night sky, shining her light onto the sleeping earth below. In the second, the Will O’the Wisp leads the traveller to the Moon and they dance together, protected by her light.
Chantry Dance will be presenting the full-length version of The Imprisoned Moon in early 2021, but in the meantime, you can watch the extracts from Oct 24th for one week here.
