Rae Piper and Paul Chantry are a vibrant and skilled choreographic duo whose work includes Birmingham Stage Company’s Olivier-nominated West End productions of David Walliams’ Gangsta Granny and Billionaire Boy, several of the Horrible Histories stage shows, an exclusive anniversary commission for the Prince of Belgium, Ballet, Contemporary, Opera, Musicals and more.

Rae Piper, a resourceful and innovative female choreographer, formed the partnership with Paul Chantry after they discovered a shared artistic vision.

The couple met while Piper was performing in the West End in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Love Never Dies and Chantry was dancing at Sadler’s Wells in The Pet Shop Boys ballet The Most Incredible Thing.
After less than a year they were asked to create their debut work for the main stage at Sadler’s Wells (The Chinese Calligraphy, Music and Dance Concert), which coincided with becoming husband and wife.

Piper and Chantry’s performance careers span everything from appearing in musicals in London’s West End, to Opera at the Royal Opera House, contemporary work at Sadler’s Wells, production shows on cruise ships, cabaret and circus work for the UK’s most notable cabaret clubs, music videos, corporate work and classical ballet companies.

Piper and Chantry are able to draw on their varied backgrounds to bring a unique level of innovation and creativity to their choreography. They bring stories to life through their powerful and expressive use of dance and movement, and their work covers a range of theatrical styles, from Opera (Gloria – A Pigtale, Royal Opera House; The Merry Widow, Royal Festival Hall), to musicals and plays (Sister Act, Pimlico Opera, The Last Days of Mankind, Bristol Old Vic, UK Premiere), and pantomime (Derby Arena, Greenwich Theatre).
They are the co-Artistic Directors of the contemporary ballet company, Chantry Dance, which produces innovative touring shows around the UK, focussed on narrative and character. They are also film producers working as ‘Whoever You Are Productions’, who produced and performed in the multiple award-winning 2021 film Whoever You Are directed by Javier De Frutos.
Whoever You Are had its European premiere at Les Beaux Arts, Paris at Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin 2022, and will have it's US premiere in Hollywood in September at IndieX Film Fest, where it is nominated as Best Experimental Short.

The duo’s efficient and effective approach is valued by directors and producers, as they offer a double set of skills, knowledge, and capacity, but as a single entity.
